Life and way of working has been changing enormously during the last years. I can’t remember time clearly when we needed to go the offices to have meetings face to face, answer the phones located on each desk and print out all the files and put them in the folders.
I feel that working life is quite nice and easy as it is at the moment. Most of us carry out laptops and have the possibility to work from nearly whenever. The phone is set in the computer, files are in clouds, colleagues are within reach in chat and meetings are easily held in Teams. Of course it’s nice to get together once in a while and meet your co-workers face to face, let’s admit that.
I remember working for a Finnish airline back in 2018 when GDPR came and all the questions were out there. Even this feels like a long time ago, digitalization is improving so fast. Nearly every website I visit, is asking about accepting cookies. Lately I have accepted as little cookies as possible, because I don’t like to be followed. Sometimes I use incognito when booking airline tickets, because I feel that the price can be better as well for testing some work related issues.
I think people mind is interesting. I remember seeing some old layouts of different adverts or websites just a couple years back and thinking that those are looking so old and even embarrassing. I think most of us have got used that things are developing very fast and we can adjust new things and changes without problems. We want things to happen faster and get better, although sometimes I feel that old things were better and that money was wasted for improvement that didn’t necessarily need to be done yet.
